The Customs Department has advised that in preparation for the migration of its warehouse operations from ASYCUDA ++ to ASYCUDA World, all duty free and private bonded warehouse operators must provide reports outlining their stock on hand as of Friday, August 23, 2019.

Acting Comptroller of Customs, Alister Forde, said the reports must be submitted electronically to the Comptroller of Customs no later than Saturday, August 24, 2019. They must be sent via email to awproject@customs.gov.bb.

He explained that the declaration of the stock on hand must be presented on a worksheet, for example MS Excel, clearly identifying the Customs warehouse code. The information must include, but not be limited to the following details: stock location; product ID on inventory system/point of sale database; commercial description of product; retail unit quantity, customs value; tariff commodity codes; and country of origin.

Mr. Forde further advised that all warehouse operators must bring to account all expired stock and outstanding sales of warehoused goods by Friday, August 23, and must pay the duties assessed on all unpaid ex-warehouse declarations by Monday, August 26. Thereafter, he explained, all warehousing transactions would be suspended until Sunday, September 1, when ASYCUDA World becomes available.

According to him, temporary measures as stipulated by the Warehousing Unit would be implemented to facilitate clearance of cargo for warehousing during August 24 to September 1. All transactions processed under such measures, he added, must be finalized on ASYCUDA World no later than Friday, September 6.

He noted that Customs administration would assist warehouse operators with the preparation of Warehousing Entries in XML format no later than Friday, August 30.

Those warehouse declarations, Mr. Forde pointed out, may be verified by the warehouse operator before they are submitted as a formal declaration of opening stock on ASYCUDA World. For additional information pertaining to the migration of Customs warehouse operations to ASYCUDA World, warehouse operators should log on to http://asycuda.customs.gov.bb, email awproject@customs.gov.bb or call 535-8700/01/02.
