Worthing Beach, Christ Church. (FP)

The public is advised that the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) has commenced drilling activities at Worthing Beach. This drilling is part of the geophysical work which will help determine the conditions for laying the permanent outfall.

As a result, a drilling rig will be on-site in the Sandy Beach area over the next few weeks testing the rock properties in the area.

Drilling will initially take place in the Graeme Hall Swamp area, and progress towards Sandy Beach. Some holes will also be drilled in the shallow lagoon in front of Sandy Beach and will involve the assembling of a work platform in the vicinity of the sluice gate.

The work is being completed by SB Testing and Engineering for the BWA, under the direction of Adams Consulting International (ACI) and Baird & Associates.

The public is asked to exercise caution and stay a safe distance away from these activities. The BWA apologizes for any inconvenience this work may cause and thanks the public for its cooperation.
