Environmental Health Officers are set to receive a refresher training course in Water Quality Surveillance.
In light of Barbados’ water quality concerns from the public, and past challenges with international “Boil water” notifications, the Ministry of Health and Wellness on Tuesday, April 09 at 8:30 a.m. will commence a three-day refresher ‘Water Quality Surveillance’ training seminar for Environmental Health Officers, at the office of the Pan American Health Organization, Dalkeith Road, St. Michael.
Environmental Health Officer in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Steve Daniel said the aim of the training seminar is to “reinforce the technical capacity of environmental health officers… and the objectives are to equip officers with a standardised methodology for water quality surveillance and to raise public confidence in the public health systems relative to drinking water.”
Among the areas to be addressed at the seminar are climate change and water scarcity, particularly in the Barbadian context.
