Barbados will join the rest of the world in commemorating World Consumer Rights Day on March 15.

Under the theme Trusted Smart Products, the Ministry of Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Commerce will host a week of activities from Sunday, March 10, to Friday, March 15.

The week begins with divine worship on Sunday, March 10, at 8:00 a.m., at the Ellerton Wesleyan Holiness Church, Ellerton, St. George.  Minister of Small Business, Entrepreneurship and Commerce, Dwight Sutherland, will briefly address the church service.

A series of radio and television talks is also scheduled with departments that focus on consumer rights and protection.

Activities will culminate on Friday, March 15, at National Heroes Square, The City, with an outreach programme. The event starts at 9:00 a.m. and runs until 2:00 p.m.

Members of the public are encouraged to come out and interact with staff from the Barbados National Standards Institution, Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs and the Fair Trading Commission, and learn more about consumer rights and the work of these organizations. Pamphlets and brochures will also be distributed.
