As part of celebrations to observe Fisherman’s Day- Tuesday, June 29, fisherfolk at the Bridgetown Fishing Complex, Princess Alice Highway, will hold a week of activities.

Under the theme: "A Fishing Line keeps us Off the Breadline!" the week will begin on Sunday, June 27, with an Ecumenical Church Service at the Bay Street Esplanade, commencing at 2:00 p.m.

?????????????????????? On Monday, June 28, a representative from the National Insurance Scheme will be at the Fishing Complex to answer any queries from members of the public. This will begin at 10:00 a.m.??????????????????

?????????????????????? ???Back to School and Back in Time’ will be the order of the day on Tuesday, June 29.?? This will see the vendors performing duties in their school clothes while serving customers.?? This will start at 8:45 a.m. sharp!

The public is also being invited to join the fisherfolk on Wednesday, June 30, for a fun day at Silver Sands Park, Christ Church. There will be a variety of sports and games, as well as a women’s cricket match.?? The event will commence at 10:00 a.m.

The next day, Thursday, July 1, from 9:30 a.m., there will be a Health Fair at the market. Persons can get their blood sugar and cholesterol tested, and participate in aerobics and other exercise-filled activities.

Vendors will get the opportunity to say ???thank you’ to patrons and members of the public for their support by hosting a Customer Appreciation Day, on Saturday, July 3, beginning at 12:00 noon.?? There, persons will be treated to fish dishes and other sumptuous delicacies. tblackman@barbados.gov.bb
