Parents and guardians of school-aged children are advised that, starting Monday, June 17, the Welfare Department will be accepting applications for educational assistance.

Interested persons should visit the welfare office in their parish to complete and submit the application form on behalf of their children or wards who will be attending government nursery, primary or secondary school in the 2019 – 2020 school year.

Documents needed for the interview process are the national identification card of the parent or legal guardian, the national identification cards of the children for whom assistance is being sought, and proof of legal guardianship, if the person is not the parent.

They are also required to provide proof of income represented by the most recent pay slip, proof of expenditure, the most recent school report and proof of placement in an educational institution for children over 16 years.

Applicants must be 18 years or over, and must be the parent or guardian of the minor for whom the application is being made. The deadline for submission of applications is Friday, September 6.
