The monthly hike, hosted by the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the National Task Force on Wellness, comes off this Saturday, November 16.

The hike moves off from the Concorde Experience carpark, Grantley Adams International Airport, Christ Church at 3:30 p.m. It will cover 5.2 miles and is expected to last two hours.

Hikers will head in the direction of Rock Hall towards the cliffs to view the Old Harp Gun. The route will then pass Salt Cave Point, Green Point and New Fall Cliff before turning inland at Ocean City and heading towards St. Martins on the way back to the Concorde Experience carpark.

This hike is suitable for adults, children and elderly persons who are agile. Participants should bring drinking water and a snack. They are advised to wear comfortable enclosed shoes, a hat, long pants and a long-sleeved shirt. Sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended.

In recognition of World Diabetes Day on November 14, hikers are encouraged to wear something blue to honour the work done by the Diabetes Association of Barbados and the Maria Holder Diabetes Foundation.

The free event is held each month under the banner Barbados Moves! Let’s Get Moving!
