The monthly hike, hosted by the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the National Task Force on Wellness, comes off on Saturday, January 25, starting at St. Lucy’s Parish Church in Fairfield.

The three-and-a-half-mile trek is expected to last two hours.  At 7:00 a.m. hikers will proceed from the church yard through Babbs, Checker Hall, Clinketts, Allmans, Benthams and back to the church yard where the Seh We Hey Market Day activities will be taking place.

At the market day, which is a We Gatherin’ event, the Ministry and Task Force will host a number of fitness challenges, including skipping, planking, spin, and road tennis. Members of the Barbados Defence Force will join them to lead a fitness performance session.

Hikers are reminded to bring drinking water and a snack.  They are advised to wear long pants, long-sleeved shirts, hats, and comfortable enclosed shoes.  Sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended.

The monthly hike, under the theme Barbados Moves! Let’s Get Moving!, is a free event
