The monthly hike, coordinated by the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the National Task Force on Wellness, comes off this Saturday, June 15.

The hike, which will cover approximately four miles, and is expected to last two hours, will start at 3:30 p.m. at the back gate of Lester Vaughn School, Cane Garden, St. Thomas.

Hikers will move along a bushy trail near the base of Shop Hill, continue up White Hill, through a housing development and through other bushy trails towards Vaucluse.

They will then cross a pasture and a grassy trail to reach the highway near Glendale, before returning to the school through Rugby.

Participants are advised to bring drinking water and snacks.  They should also wear comfortable enclosed shoes, long pants, long-sleeved shirts and hats.

Sun screen and sunglasses are recommended. The hikes, which are free, are held under the theme Barbados Moves! Let’s Get Moving!
