The monthly hike, hosted by the Ministry of Health and Wellness, in collaboration with the National Task Force on Wellness, comes off this Saturday, September 21.

The hike will start at the Bulkeley Plantation Factory Yard, St. George at 3:30 p.m. From the plantation yard, hikers will traverse through a cane field and uphill via Jordans into Workman’s.  They will then proceed to Good Intent, Eastlyn and back to the factory yard via Bulkeley Meadows.

The hike, which is approximately 3.7 miles, will last about two hours.  It includes some hills and is classified as intermediate, in terms of difficulty.

Participants are advised to bring drinking water and a snack.  The recommended attire is comfortable enclosed shoes, long pants, long-sleeved shirt and a hat. Sunscreen and sunglasses are also recommended.

The free monthly hikes are held under the theme Barbados Moves! Let’s Get Moving!
