The public is reminded that the Winston Scott Polyclinic at Jemmotts Lane, St. Michael, is the official internationally-designated yellow fever vaccination centre for Barbados, and therefore the vaccination should only be administered there.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness has advised that the vaccine is the best protection against yellow fever, a disease which can be fatal.  A single dose provides lifelong protection.

The vaccine is required when travelling to a destination where the virus is endemic, namely tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, as well as Central and South America.
