Minister of Education, Ronald Jones

Approximately $1.8 million as been allocated for the completion of the refurbishment of the Parkinson Memorial School.

According to Minister of Education and Human Resource Development, Ronald Jones, “it is anticipated that the refurbishment of the old block destroyed by fire will be completed by May this year, while the new block being constructed at the entrance is about 20 percent completed and is anticipated to be completed by March, 2010.”

Addressing the Speech Day and Prize Giving Ceremony of the Parkinson Memorial School, Mr. Jones commended the staff and students who “had to work in prefab buildings, put up with noise and dust and those who had to use several different locations for classes.”

In Examining the Speech Day’s theme, “New Beginnings”, the Minister added that there were also plans to build a new Industrial Arts Block as well as to refurbish the School Hall. “I think all will agree that soon we will have a new and refurbished school plant here at Parkinson Memorial. It will surely be a new beginning,” he remarked.
