A picture is worth a thousand words – let youth be visible! is the guiding theme of a photo contest, which aims to highlight issues young people face in the workplace and innovative means of addressing these challenges.

The Ministry of Labour is therefore, encouraging persons to participate in the WORK4YOUTH competition, which was launched by the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) Youth Employment Programme.

Submissions should capture youth at work in different places and under various conditions, in a creative and original manner.?? Interested persons, who may enter up to five photos, are invited to focus specifically on issues such as working conditions; gender barriers; discrimination; informality; entrepreneurship; working poverty; migration; precarious work; and the rural economy.

The winning shots will be selected from all photo entries, with three prizes to be awarded in this Global category: Best Photo, US$1,000; Second Best Photo, US$500; and a Youth Prize, for persons aged 18 to 29, US$800.

Entries should be submitted to ilophotocontest@gmail.com no later than 23:59 European Central Time on Monday, April 15.
