The last in a series of workshops for unemployed youth will take place this Friday, March 22, at the Cave Hill School of Business, The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, from 9:00 a.m.

An initiative of the Barbados Employment and Career Counselling Service (BECCS), it will focus on building the skills and abilities of unemployed persons, by providing practical advice and tips to increase the likelihood of employment among the youth.

Approximately 100 participants and staff members of the BECCS are expected to attend the workshop, which will be held in the First Citizens & Training Room 3, at the Cave Hill School of Business.

Director of BECCS, Yvette Walcott Dennis, will address the start of the event.

The workshop represents an inter-departmental effort by the Ministry of Labour and Social Partnership Relations to further engage with the public in light of the ongoing retrenchment exercise.

Unemployed youth with an interest in the workshop may register by emailing beccs@barbados.gov.bb, or by calling 535-1535/1540/1551.

Participants will be trained in effective communication skills, CV writing, interview techniques and entrepreneurship.
