In commemoration of "World Health Day" April 7, the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the United Nation’s Population Fund (UNFPA) will host a workshop at the United Nations (UN) House, Hastings, on that day.

The workshop, which begins at 10:00 a.m., will focus attention on "The Development of A Protocol for Medical Professionals on the Management and Treatment of Survivors of Sexual Abuse".

Chief Medical Officer, Dr Joy St John, will deliver the feature address.

Key goals of the workshop are to develop a protocol for health care professionals to manage sexual abuse effectively and to promote a holistic approach to the management of sexual abuse.

In addition to Ministry of Health officials, the seminar targets stake holders from the Caribbean Council of Churches, the Barbados Family Planning Association, the Bureau of Gender Affairs, the Child Care Board, the Men’s Educational Support Association, the Probation Department and the Royal Barbados Police Force, among others.
