The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Fisheries and Water Resource Management, in collaboration with the CARICOM Secretariat and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) will host a workshop to educate its stakeholders on praedial larceny.

It will be held on Thursday, October 19, in the Conference Room at the Ministry’s Graeme Hall, Christ Church headquarters, starting at 9:00 a.m.

During the session, there will be presentations by IICA’s Representative in Barbados, Ena Harvey; and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations’ (FAO) Deputy Sub-regional Coordinator for the Caribbean, Dr. Lystra Fletcher-Paul. Chief Agriculture Officer, Dr. Lennox Chandler, will speak on the topic: Barbados’ Efforts to Combat Praedial Larceny.

In addition, Trade and Marketing Officer with the FAO, Heiko Bammann, will discuss: Praedial Larceny: Regional Perspectives; while Deputy Superintendent of Police and National Praedial Larceny Prevention Officer in the Jamaica Constabulary Force, Kevin Francis, will expound on the topic: Jamaican Praedial Larceny Best Practices and Experiences.
