Issues pertinent to members of the disabled community, their caregivers and families will be examined when the National Disabilities Unit (NDU) and other organisations for persons with disabilities hold four workshops, beginning from Monday, March 9. 

The first workshop will be held by the National Organisation of the Disabled (BARNOD) on Monday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the National Union of Public Workers’ (NUPW) Headquarters, Dalkeith, St. Michael. It will focus on gender issues/relations and will examine violence against women.

On Tuesday, March 10, the NDU will host the second seminar on the Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities at UN House, Marine Gardens, Christ Church. It will also run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The third meeting for parents will be hosted by the Organisation of Parents of the Disabled at the NUPW Headquarters, on Thursday, March 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It comes as part of the “Show Them Love” Public Awareness Programme.

The White Paper for Persons with Disabilities will be the focus of the final session on Tuesday, March 24, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., being held by the NDU. It will take place at UN House.
