Members of the public are encouraged to join the Ministry of Social Care and the Community Development Department in observing World AIDS Day on Monday, December 1, at a rally in Independence Square, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

After an opening ceremony with addresses by Minister of Social Care, Christopher Sinckler and Chairman of the National HIV/AIDS Commission, Dr. Carol Jacobs, an evening of entertainment will follow.

Performances will be in drama, dance, songs and mime and entertainers include Adrian Clarke, Brian ‘Bumba’ Payne, Patrick Forde, Bonnetts HIV Committee, United Sister, Double Laff Theatre, and Carla Springer. There will also be a presentation of prizes to the song contest winners.

The slogan for World AIDS Day is “Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise”.
