On Tuesday, March 15, Barbadians and consumer groups around the world will come together to celebrate World Consumer Rights Day.

This year???s theme, Antibiotics off the Menu, will seek to tackle a major international public health crisis, as Consumers International and its members call on the world???s largest fast food companies to make global commitments to stop serving meat from animals routinely given antibiotics used in human medicine.

To mark the occasion, the Ministry of Industry, International Business, Commerce and Small Business Development, will host several activities.

On Sunday, March 13 at 8:00 a.m., a church service will be held at the Western Light Church of the Nazarene, Oxnards, St. James. Minister of Industry, Donville Inniss will deliver brief remarks.

On Tuesday, March 15, there will be a public awareness programme in Jubilee Gardens from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Booths will be set up to facilitate the dissemination of information and presentations by the Ministry of Health, Agriculture, the Office of the Public Counsel and the Barbados National Standards Institute.

Minister Donville Inniss, will deliver the feature address at the launch and the public is invited to attend.
