Barbados will join with other nations around the world to promote a better understanding of the abuse and neglect of older persons and the significance of such actions in relation to public health and human rights, when World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is celebrated this Sunday, June 15.

To mark the day, the National Assistance Board, in collaboration with the Planning Committee for Activities for Older Persons, will host a church service, which will be held on Sunday, at the Brittons Hill Wesleyan Holiness Church, Brittons Hill, St. Michael, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Further information on the service may be obtained by contacting Colleen Walcott, at 426-3131 or 230-7444.
