The Barbados Postal Service (BPS) will join other postal administrations around the world to commemorate World Post Day 2019 on Wednesday, October 9, under the theme: Delivering Development.

To start the celebrations, Minister of Home Affairs, Edmund Hinkson, and members of the BPS will attend a church service at the Breath of Life Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Whitehall, St. Michael, on Saturday, October 5, beginning at 10:45 a.m.

World Post Day is designed to bring awareness to the Posts’ role in the everyday lives of people and businesses as it contributes to global, social and economic development.

The day was declared by the 1969 Universal Postal Congress in Tokyo, Japan, to mark the establishment of the Universal Postal Union in 1874.
