Tuesday, October 9 is World Post Day.

And to mark the occasion, the Barbados Postal Service (BPS) will join other postal organisations worldwide to observe this day by joining in worship at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, President Kennedy Drive, St. Michael, at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 7.

Acting Postmaster General, Trudy Farley, will deliver remarks and speak on the BPS’s involvement in the Universal Postal Union (UPU).

World Post Day is celebrated each year on October 9, the anniversary of the establishment of the UPU in 1874 in the Swiss capital, Bern. It was declared World Post Day by the UPU Congress held in Tokyo, Japan, in 1969.
