Young Barbadians are being encouraged to be a part of the CARICOM Youth Committee.

Persons between the ages of 16 and 35 who are interested in joining the Committee should register by Friday, March 5. Those who wish to apply or need additional information should e-mail CARICOMyouthcommittee@gmail.com. ??Accepted delegates will be informed on Sunday, March 7.

One of this island’s CARICOM Youth Ambassadors, Christaneisha Soleyn, said young people who had creative ideas about how to promote regional integration, empower youth and influence policy-making should become a member of the Committee.

Ms. Soleyn continued: "We want proactive young people who want to make a difference in the Caribbean. We will come together and design and implement projects, discuss areas that we think need to be changed and issues we think should be pushed.

"We young people have so much passion and energy that should not be wasted. If you know that you can make a difference, don’t just sit back… Let us come out and play our part in our society and the Caribbean."?? ??askeete@barbados.gov.bb
