Efforts to eliminate the aedes aegypti mosquito from the island will continue next week, when the Vector Control Unit of the Ministry of Health carries out its fogging programme in St. Philip, St. Peter St. Michael and St. James from Monday, September 10, to Friday, September 14.

On Monday, September 10, the St. Philip communities of Robinson Land, Ruby Park, Ruby Development, Ruby Tenantry, Union Development and its?? environs will be fogged.

Tuesday, September 11, will see fogging in the St. Peter districts of Maynards Tenantry, Maynards Development, Rose Hill, Benn Hill, Golden Mile, Golden Mile Terrace, Heywoods, Six Mens and surrounding districts.

The St. Perter and St. James districts of at Cemetery Lane, Road View, Sweet Home Gap, Gibbs, Mullins, Lower Bakers, Lower Carlton 1st – 4th Avenues, Carlton Road will be fogged on Wednesday, September 12.

The Unit will move to St .Michael on Thursday, September 13, when Pine Road, Upper Collymore Rock, Lower Collymore Rock, Prince Gap, Pine North/South Road, Pine Gardens 1st & 2nd Avenue, Pine Plantation Road, Pine Hill Road, Erdiston Hill, Government Hill, Belleville, George Street, Belmont Road, Stevenson Road, Campaign Land, Bannister Land, Delaware Land, Martindales Road and its environs will be fogged.

Fogging for the week will end on, Friday, September 14, at West Terrace 1st – 6th Avenue, West Terrace Road, Husbands Heights, Husbands Gardens, Croton Drive, and Husbands Development.

Fogging will run from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. Pedestrians and motorists should proceed with caution when encountering fogging operations on the street, and parents should prevent their children from playing in the fog or from running behind the fogging machine.?? In addition, persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog.?? Householders are urged to help in the elimination of the aedes aegypti mosquito by opening windows and doors to allow the fog to circulate.??
