SAGICOR Praised For Lighting Ceremony Support

Minister of Culture, Stephen Lashley, has praised Sagicor Life Inc. highly for its continuous involvement in this country???s annual Lighting Ceremony.

During a recent media briefing at Sagicor???s office on the details of the upcoming Independence celebrations, Mr. Lashley highlighted the extent of the organisation???s support of the Community Independence Celebrations.

???I want to take this opportunity to compliment Sagicor for its corporate responsibility. It has been 20 years that Sagicor has been supporting the Community Independence Celebrations activities, particularly the lighting aspect, and we are happy with the quality of support that we get,??? he stated.

The Minister of Culture added that such corporate citizenship should be used as an example to other organisations, and described its support as helping to ???inspire and bring light to our nation???.

Mr. Lashley also commended the Barbadian public???s continued support of the events surrounding Independence Celebrations, and encouraged them to attend this year???s lighting ceremony, which will take place on Sunday, November 1, in Independence Square at 5:30 p.m. The annual event will begin the month-long celebration of Barbados’ 49th Anniversary of Independence.
