Approximately 80 of this island’s micro, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs will showcase their products and services at another Emerging Entrepreneurs Broad Street Mall Marketplace tomorrow, Saturday, June 22.

It will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., between the traffic lights at Republic Bank (Barbados) and those at Royal Bank of Canada, on Broad Street, The City.

Business Development Manager at the Barbados Trust Fund Limited (BTFL), Kirk Dottin, said over 5,000 locals and tourists visited last week’s marketplace and he encouraged them and others to attend tomorrow’s market.

Mr. Dottin stated: “The marketplaces have been going well as we continue to showcase the best of Barbados. We are encouraging members of the public to visit the marketplace as more entrepreneurs will be displaying their products, and we are confident that there will be something available for everyone.

“The entrepreneurs have expressed appreciation for our efforts in hosting this initiative, and are urging us to keep the marketplace going, and move it around to other locations. We are aiming to stage marketplaces for this island’s Independence and Christmas.”

In addition to showcasing various items, including beauty products, clothing, accessories, food, confectionery, condiments, and natural wines, some female entertainers will perform tomorrow.

The local Organising Committee for the 2024 International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 World Cup, in collaboration with BTFL, FundAccess, the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme, and the Barbados Youth Business Trust, among others, committed to hosting four marketplaces during the month of June. The final one will be held on Saturday, June 29.

The Emerging Entrepreneurs Broad Street Mall Marketplace creates networking opportunities for small business owners and fosters economic growth and development within the local business community, among other things. It allows the businesspeople to capitalise on the activity associated with the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
