As part of activities to mark its 15th anniversary, The Lester Vaughan School will host a career showcase this Thursday, November 15.

The event will be held at the school located at Cane Garden, St. Thomas, under the theme Celebrating Fifteen: Finding Your Niche in the World. It runs from 9:15 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.

Third and Fifth formers at the school, considered to be at a critical juncture in their school life, are the main target group and several public and private sector organisations have been asked to prepare interactive presentations on their particular careers for the students.

The aim of the career showcase, which will take the form of small group discussions and booth displays, is to acquaint students with steps to take to pursue particular careers, the necessary qualifications, challenges involved, personal traits required as well as training needs, and how to access such training.

It is expected that the young career seekers will benefit from the myriad handouts, fliers, business cards and promotional material which organisations will provide to students.

The opening ceremony will be addressed by Principal Diana Wilson and Life Coach, Cheryl Gittens.
