As the Vector Control Unit of the Ministry of Health continues its efforts to rid the island of the aedes aegypti mosquito, fogging will be carried out in St. Michael, St. Thomas and St. Lucy next week, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. each day.
On Monday, February 11, Josey Hill, Mount Gay Tenantry, Pickerings, Durhams, Jemmotts Cottage, Chance Hall, Glendalough, Mount View, Rock Hall, Peteres, Oxford, Church Hill, Church Hill Drive, Lowlands and St. Clements in St. Lucy, will be fogged.
The following day, Tuesday, February 12, the Vector Control Unit’s team will visit the St. Michael district of Capri Drive, Wavell Avenue with gaps on left, Black Rock Main Road, Brownes Gap, Belfield Land, Seclusion Gardens, 1st and 2nd ??Avenues,Fairfield ??, Hurley Land, Scotts Terrace, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Avenues Grazettes and the surrounding areas.??
The teams will return to that parish on Wednesday, February 13 to spray Roebuck Street, Perry Gap, Hindsbury Road, Harmony Hall, Greenidge Road, Hamlet Road, Brathwaite Road, School Road, Dr. Kerr Land, Prescod Bottom, Headley Land, Taylor Land, Advent Avenue, Skeetes Road, Holligan Road, Progressive Road, Pavilion Road, Downey Gap, Garden Land, Laundry Road, Tamarind Road, Country Road, Bank Hall Cross Road, Bank Hall Main Road and the environs.
Canewood Road, Jackson Stage 1, 2 and 3, Arsenal Playing Field Road, Jackson Tenantry Road, Cane Garden Development and neighbouring districts in St. Michael and St. Thomas will be fogged on Thursday, February 14.????
The team will also fog the St. Michael districts of West Terrace 1st to 16th Avenues, West Terrace Road, Husbands Heights, Husbands Gardens, Oxnards, Croton Drive, Husbands Development and adjoining areas on Friday, February 15.
Householders are urged to open their windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate, while persons with respiratory problems should protect themselves from inhaling the fog.??
However, pedestrians and motorists should proceed with caution when encountering fogging operations on the street, and parents should prevent their children from playing in the fog or from running behind the fogging machine.??
