Seventy-two people, 29 males and 43 females, tested positive for COVID-19 from the 485 tests conducted on Tuesday, September 6, by laboratories across the island.

The cases consisted of eight persons under the age of 18, and 64 who were 18 years and older.

There were 52 people in isolation facilities, while 682 were in home isolation.

The Coroner’s Office reported seven COVID-19 related deaths within the community in the last two weeks.

As at September 6, there were 553 deaths as a result of COVID-19.

The laboratories conducted 758,171 tests since February 2020, and recorded 101,696 COVID-19 cases (45,999 males and 55,697 females).            

Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 163,346 (71.5 per cent of the eligible population).  The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 154,458 (57 per cent of the total population or 67.6 per cent of the eligible population).  The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
