Barbadians will get another opportunity to contribute to the new Constitution when the Constitutional Reform Commission hosts a public meeting on Sunday, November 6at the Deighton Griffith Secondary School, Kingsland, Christ Church.

The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m., and will be facilitated by member of the Commission, Chris DeCaires, who is encouraging members of the public to attend the session and make their recommendations.

Mr. DeCaires continued: “This is the last opportunity for the public to address the Commission on general issues, which are of interest to them, since the next stage of the town hall meeting process will focus on specific themes such as citizenship, human rights, the public service, etcetera.

“During these thematic meetings, members of the public will be invited to make presentations on specific topics.   So it is quite important that as many persons as possible come out…to the Deighton Griffith Secondary School to have their say on the Constitution, and the process of reforming it.”

Members of the public are reminded that they may submit their ideas, comments and suggestions to constitutionalreform@barbados.gov.bb, or by mail, in care of the Director General – Governance, 2nd Floor, E. Humphrey Walcott Building, corner of Culloden Road and Collymore Rock, St. Michael.

They may also call the hotline number for the Constitutional Reform Commission, which is 536-1250. A copy of the consolidated Constitution of Barbados may be accessed on the Constitutional Reform Commission’s website, or by clicking here.
