Members of the public are encouraged to learn more about safety and their health during an awareness day on Saturday, May 27, at the Deacons Hardcourt, Deacons, St. Michael, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The annual event, under the theme: A Safe Community, a Healthier You, is hosted by the St. Michael North West District Emergency Organisation, the Department of Emergency Management and the Co-Operators General Insurance Company Limited.
During the day, there will be several activities, including watch displays and drills by the Barbados Fire Service, interactive sessions on home and community safety with The Barbados Police Service and opportunities to learn about tsunamis, earthquakes and coastal damage by the Coastal Zone Management Unit.
In addition, there will be a children’s interactive booth and opportunities to have health checks.
