The National Task Force on Wellness will take its Wellness Hike to River Bay, St. Lucy, on Sunday, April 14. It will start at 6:30 a.m., and is free to members of the public.
Participants will leave River Bay and go along the coast towards the old North Point Resort, moving further down towards the Animal Flower Cave. Hikers will then turn by the Animal Flower Cave and follow the road back to the starting point at River Bay.
The hike intensity will be relatively low for any age, however, some hiking experience or physical fitness is still a requirement. Persons who are not sure of their level of physical fitness should consult with their medical doctor before participating.
Hikers are advised to bring sufficient drinking water and healthy snacks to stay hydrated and energised. Participants are also advised to wear suitable clothing to protect their skin when going through any bushy areas. Appropriate enclosed shoes that will not cause sliding are also necessary.
