The Barbados Pharmaceutical Society is celebrating its annual Pharmacy Week which started last Sunday, August 25, and will run until Sunday, September 1, with a number of activities.
It is being held under the theme Mental Health: Protect Your Mind, Support Your Well-Being.
The remaining activities include:
• A Basic Introduction to CPR and First Aid workshop by Emergency Medical Technician, Andwele Prince, tomorrow Wednesday, August 28, at the Barbados Coalition of Service Industries, Manor Lodge Complex, Green Hill, St. Michael, at 7:15 p.m.
• A seminar on Thursday, August 29, by Biochemist Tracy Caddle, on How Chronic Conditions Impact Your Mental Health at the Courtyard By Marriott Hotel, Hastings, Christ Church beginning at 7:00 p.m.;
• A Back-to-School Community Health Fair and Fun Day at the Briar Hall Community Resource Centre, Christ Church, from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 31.
• And a beach lime, at Savvy on the Bay, Bay Street, St. Michael, from 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 1.
During the week’s signature event, the Back-to-School Community Health Fair and Fun Day, there will be healthcare services, patient counselling and information offered by various entities including the Barbados Cancer Society, The Diabetes and Hypertension Association of Barbados, The National Council on Substance Abuse, The Psychiatric Hospital, Bayview Laboratories, Barbados Family Planning and The Barbados Colon Cancer Initiative.
Additionally, product sampling will be offered by a number of distributors, and there will be games, prizes, giveaways, jumping tents and other entertainment for children and the entire family.
