Phase Two of the Water Resilience Community Meetings for the Water Sector Resilience Nexus for Sustainability in Barbados, or WSRN S-Barbados project, will kick off on Monday, October 7.
Hosted by the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) through the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC), with support from the Green Climate Fund, the community outreach programme seeks to empower Barbadians with the knowledge and tools to improve water and energy conservation, while addressing the ongoing impacts of climate change on the island’s water supply.
The first series of meetings, which run from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., are:
- Monday, October 7 – St. Jude’s Anglican Church, St. George
- Tuesday, October 8 – St. Mark’s Anglican Church, St. John
- Thursday, October 10 – Sharon Moravian, St. Thomas
- Monday, October 14 – Hillaby Seventh-Day Adventist, St. Andrew
- Tuesday, October 15 – Western Light Church of the Nazarene, Oxnards, St. James
Members of the public are invited to participate and learn more about the BWA’s water conservation initiatives and how residents can play a part in securing Barbados’ water resources.
