Young Barbadian female athletes are invited to apply for the 2023 Sports Visitor Program of the United States (US) Embassy.
It is an active and experiential sports-based exchange programme for 15 to 18- year-old female non-elite soccer players from the Eastern Caribbean, which introduces participants to American excellence, leadership, and best practices in sports.
The programme includes a two-week exchange to the United States, which is fully funded by the US Department of State.
Successful applicants will get the opportunity to attend a soccer camp; participate in workshops and meetings with community organisations; attend various cultural and sporting events, and engage in sessions to enhance their public speaking, team-building and leadership development skills.
