Barbados and the People’s Republic of China will celebrate 40 years of diplomatic relations on Tuesday, May 30, and several events are being hosted to mark the occasion.
A forum, entitled: Barbados and the People’s Republic of China – Celebrating Forty Years of Relations: Achievements, Opportunities, Strategies, will be held this Friday, May 26, at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, Two Mile Hill, St. Michael, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
There will also be a performance entitled: Evening Gala: China Tianjin Art Troupe, on Tuesday, May 30, to which the public is invited. It will be held at the Frank Collymore Hall, Central Bank of Barbados, Spry Street, Bridgetown, at 7:00 p.m., and will feature a visiting troupe as well as Barbadian artistes.
A photo exhibition will be on display at the site highlighting key moments in Barbados/China relations over the last 40 years, including high-level visits, projects and people-to-people exchanges.
