At-risk and vulnerable youth delegates at a recent Flip Yah Script aftercare session by Change To Thrive – The Mindset Challenge Programme. (National Peace Program)

Sixty persons are currently undergoing training in the National Peace Program’s Flip Yah Script Transformative Experience aftercare programme.

The eight-week training is being held on Saturdays and the delegates are receiving important information for their personal development.

Minister of State in the Office of the Attorney General with responsibility for Crime Prevention, Corey Lane, told the delegates in a recent message that he is looking forward to the positive changes and growth that are expected to come out of the training experience.

“The objective of the National Peace Program is to ensure that you are armed with the right knowledge to make a difference … in this country. This programme … will present you with deeper insight into your mission in life and how you can tap into your skills, passion, and purpose to become your best self.

“This aftercare programme is set to reinforce the positive in you and in this society, as well as effect change, so we can build stronger families and communities and reduce crime in Barbados,” Mr. Lane stated.

He explained that those participating in the sessions are being exposed to business planning, business etiquette, résumé writing and interviewing techniques, budgeting, and financial planning, among others.

Flip Yah Script Transformative Experience is one of the many avenues being used to fight crime in Barbados, by changing the way people think.

At the end of the training programme, delegates are expected to develop a strong desire to reach their full potential, so that they can have a positive impact on their families, communities and country.
