Director of Sports at the National Sports Council, Neil Murrell, has encouraged the young athletes competing in the NAPSAC finals to do their best, as he conveyed a heartfelt message of gratitude to all involved in staging the games.

Mr. Murrell, who was speaking to those in attendance at the opening of the NAPSAC finals today, at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex, Paradise Park, St. Michael, addressed the challenges faced in executing the event and acknowledged the pivotal role of various stakeholders.

The Director extended his thanks to the NAPSAC Committee, the technical committee, the Ministry of Education, schools, principals, physical education teachers, coaches, parents, athletes, and sponsors.

 He said he recognised their unwavering dedication and resolve, “which transformed challenges into opportunities and uncertainty into triumph”.

Mr. Murrell continued: “They persevered; they were resolute, and they were determined. These are the characteristics that have made today a reality.”

He also spoke of the importance of resilience and determination in shaping not only the outcome of sporting events but also the future of young athletes and the nation as a whole.

He urged all participants to embody these qualities during the finals and in all aspects of their lives. Director Murrell also extended best wishes of success to all athletes and schools participating in the NAPSAC finals.
