 A total of 907 degrees, diplomas, and certificates, across a range of disciplines, are expected to be conferred on the class of 2023, when the Barbados Community College (BCC) holds its 50th graduation ceremony, at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex, this Saturday, November 11.

The figure represents an increase over the approximately 800 academic qualifications conferred on students during last year’s ceremony. Under the theme Framing the Future, the event begins at 5:00 p.m.

Minister of Education, Technological and Vocational Training, Kay McConney, will deliver the feature address, while Dr. Sharon Milagro Marshall, one of the students who entered the BCC 50 years ago, in 1973, will address the students.

Of the total students who will graduate, 228 will receive Bachelor Degrees; 176, the Associate Degree in Applied Science; and 133, the Associate Degree in Applied Arts.

Additionally, 141 students will graduate with the Associate Degree in Arts; 63 with the Associate Degree in Science; and 35 with the Associate Degree in Arts and Science. A total of 116 students will receive BCC certificates, while six others will be given postgraduate diplomas.
