The Barbados Defence Force (BDF) has been serving Barbados and the region for 45 years with honour and distinction. To commemorate this significant milestone, the Force will be hosting a series of events, under the theme “Proven Excellence, Shaping the Future”.
This significant milestone signifies a coming of age for the Force. Although 2024 will see the Force supporting global operations, such as UNCTAD and the ICC Cricket World Cup, for which preparatory training and testing will be done through the Regional Security System Unity Exercise and the US SOUTHCOM/Barbados co-hosted Exercise Tradewinds, Headquarters BDF, believes these events will allow all serving and retired members, friends, and partners to acknowledge this achievement.
The planned events will focus on health and wellness, environmental responsibility, and family as well as showcase the careers available.
The marquee event will be the Chief of Staff’s Anniversary Address and Commemorative Exhibition, which will take place on 15 August 2024, the exact date of the establishment of the BDF.
