Hundreds of secondary school students are expected to descend on the Barbados Community College (BCC) tomorrow, Wednesday, March 22, and again on Thursday, March 23, for the College’s Expo 2023.

The event is back after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the opening ceremony slated for tomorrow, Wednesday, March 22, at 9:00 a.m. in the Liberal Arts Auditorium.

Principal Annette Alleyne will deliver opening remarks, while Chairman of the Barbados Private Sector Association, Trisha Tannis, will deliver the feature address.

The expo promises to give the students a first-hand look at what is on offer in the different divisions and departments across the BCC’s “Eyrie” St. Michael campus.

Coordinator and Assistant Registrar (Examinations), Makeda Hart, noting that the interest has been great, said: “All 22 public secondary schools and some private schools have been invited, and the response so far has been encouraging.”

A number of sponsors have also come on board, taking advantage of the unique opportunity to partner with some of the College’s divisions to give students a first-hand look at the world of work.
