The importance of ‘quality’ will again be highlighted when the Barbados National Standards Institution (BNSI) hosts a half-day Visibility Conference, on Wednesday, July 27.
The conference will be held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre, under the theme: Quality a Must for Success, and participants are expected to be drawn from a cross section of businesses. Members of the public may view the session, which begins at 9:00 a.m., by clicking here.
Director of the BNSI, Hadyn Rhynd, said the initiative is in keeping with the organisation’s strategic objectives to continue bringing awareness of its activities and services, increase membership, and foster a quality culture through education.
“Quality is at the forefront of the Barbados National Standards Institution’s agenda. Additionally, we are ever mindful that quality is at the core of Barbados’ development, hence our emphasis on incorporating quality as a country strategy to produce competitive products and services in the domestic and export markets,” Mr. Rhynd stated.
During the event, there will be a presentation of certificates to participants who received BNSI’s ISO 9001 Training. This training provided participants with the prerequisites for a quality management system, which is necessary to reliably deliver products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Minister of Energy and Business, Kerrie Symmonds, who is also Senior Minister for coordinating the Productive Sector, will deliver the feature address at the conference, while Mr. Rhynd will present the Director’s Report.
There will also be presentations by BNSI’s Chief Technical Officer of Specifications Development, Quality Control and Certification, Fabian Scott, and its Technical Officer of Tourism and Related Services, Renate Sealy.
In addition, there will be testimonials by a number of the participants who engaged in the training session.
