Past and present Bridgetown residents are invited to submit nominations for the City of Bridgetown Constituency inaugural awards.
There are several award categories. In the area of sport, eligible persons must have excelled in a specific sport, or have been an ambassador for this country at the regional or international levels.
The sports categories include Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Dominoes, Football, Road Tennis, Netball and Table Tennis.
The other categories are: Unsung Hero, Education, Differently Able, Performing Culture/Arts, Vending, Tourism & Hospitality, Fishing Industry, Community Worker, Medicine, Law, Religion and Business.
Each nomination should be accompanied by a testimonial of no less than 300 words, giving background information on the nominee, and stating why he or she is deserving of the award.
Nomination forms may be obtained from the Emmerton Community Centre, Chapman Lane, St. Michael; the Department of Constituency Empowerment, 4th Floor, Warrens Office Complex, Warrens, St. Michael; any Council Member or online at www.councils.gov.bb.
Nominations close on Wednesday, May 17. Completed forms should be placed in self-addressed envelopes and returned to the Department of Constituency Empowerment or the nearest Post Office.
