Camp Transition 2017 will begin next week with an opening ceremony on Tuesday, August 8.

The brief ceremony will run from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. in the hall of The St. Michael School, where the camp will be held.

This year, the opening will incorporate the launch of the inaugural Career Success Summer Camp for 13 to 18-year old children along with the camp for those children who are transitioning from primary to secondary school.  They will both run concurrently and end on Monday, August 14.

Camp Transition 2017 will climax with the Parents’ Empowerment Workshop on Tuesday, August 15, from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Camp Transition aims to help young students develop skills to surmount every hurdle in the transition throughout secondary school and to enter secondary school with confidence in their drive to succeed.

Aspects from the ELAINE (Emotional, Life Skills-based, Academic, Introspective, Nurturing Experience) Model for orientation to secondary schools will be explored and incorporated during the initiative.
