Outgoing Junior Minister of Tourism, Christopher Morgan, delivered an introspective report on his tenure, during the Ministry of Tourism’s Annual Speech Competition yesterday.

Mr. Morgan acknowledged that he had thoroughly enjoyed his interaction with industry workers and visitors to the island during his year-long stint, which saw him attending the Prime Minister’s receptions for long-stay visitors; participating in a panel discussion on service standards with the Caribbean Tourism Organisation; and experiencing the Barbados product first hand.
While he described his internship with the Barbados Tourism Authority as one of the highlights of his tenure, Mr. Morgan added, "My most cherished moment was hearing ???Barbados’ called for second place at the Regional Youth Congress held in St. Kitts… [I had been] going over my speech, hoping not to travel all the way to St. Kitts on Government’s limited resources to return home with nothing …
I brought pride to not only myself but my school and my country," he said, while offering special thanks to Tourism Development Officer, Marsha Armstrong; Bonita Morgan of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation and Minister of Tourism Richard Sealy for their support.
Offering words of encouragement to the Junior Minister 2012-2013, Combermere student Kezia Forde, Mr. Morgan urged her "…to open your eyes and take in as much information as you possibly can; inform all your friends about the importance of this sector, and encourage them to play their part."
