Environmental health officers attached to the Eunice Gibson Polyclinic will host a community sensitization programme as part of its rodent control initiative in Bush Hall Yard Gap, St. Michael, on Saturday, August 31.
The programme will run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Bush Hall Community Centre. During the exercise, free rodent bait will be distributed and environmental health officers will share information on rodents and their associated diseases, such as leptospirosis and Hanta Virus infection.
The environmental health officers will also visit the surrounding communities to share information, and give advice on the control of rodents, their habits and habitats, and proper baiting techniques.
