In celebration of its 45th anniversary, the Court Process Office of the Registration Department will host a sports evening at 4:00 on Saturday, May 18, at the Bridgefield Playing Facilities, Bridgefield, St. Thomas.

The Judicial Neon Sports will comprise various entities within the judicial system, namely the Registration Department, The Barbados Police Service, the Barbados Prison Service and attorneys from the Barbados Bar Association.

Some of the events they will compete in include sack races; passing the ball; 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, and 4 x 100m races; lime and spoon races; and tug-o-war.

A trophy will be awarded to the team amassing the most points and prizes will be given to winners and participants of the event. Members of the public are invited to come out and cheer on the participants.

The Court Process Office was established in 1979 following the amalgamation of the Writ Services Division of the Royal Barbados Police Force and the Chief Marshal’s Office of the Registration Department.

The marshals’ tasks include executing writs and warrants granted from the court, serving summonses on persons who are summoned to attend the Supreme Court, and serving Maintenance and Protection Orders.
