There were 431 new COVID-19 cases, 198 males and 233 females, recorded on Monday, August 15, from the 1,201 tests conducted by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.
The cases comprised 61 persons under the age of 18, and 370 who were 18 years and older.
The number of people in isolation facilities was 70, while 3,731 were in home isolation.
Six more people succumbed to the virus; an 86-year-old man on Saturday, August 13; a 52-year-old man and a 98-year-old woman on Sunday, August 14, and a 95-year-old woman and two men, aged 73 and 85, on Monday, August 15.
As at August 15, there were 525 COVID-19 related deaths.
The public health laboratory has conducted 744,592 tests since February 2020, and recorded 98,277 COVID-19 cases (44,437 males and 53,840 females).
Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 163,069 (71.4 per cent of the eligible population). The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 154,186 (56.9 per cent of the total population or 67.5 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
