Barbados recorded 245 new COVID-19 cases, 116 males and 129 females, from the 929 tests conducted on Tuesday, May 24, by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.
The cases consisted of 62 persons under the age of 18, and 183 who were 18 years and older. There were 66 people in isolation facilities, while 3,183 were in home isolation. As at May 24, there were 444 COVID-19 related deaths.
The public health laboratory has conducted 682,320 tests since February 2020, and recorded 79,628 COVID-19 cases (36,364 males and 43,264 females).
Under the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, the total number of persons with at least one dose is 162,299 (71.1 per cent of the eligible population).
The total number of fully vaccinated persons is 152,672 (56.3 per cent of the total population or 66.8 per cent of the eligible population). The eligible population represents those persons who are 12 years and older.
