The final date for submission of comments and recommendations to the Constitutional Reform Commission (CRC) is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14.

This disclosure has come from Chairman of the CRC, Mr. Justice (Retd) Christopher Blackman, who is encouraging members of the public to continue submitting recommendations for the new Barbados Constitution.

Mr. Blackman said: “The Commission has received a number of contributions from members of the public. We sincerely thank all those persons who have taken the time and effort to submit written and or verbal comments for our consideration.

“You are assured that the Commission has read each of those submissions and we are giving consideration to the contents during our deliberations.  We urge the public to submit any further information in good time.”

Persons should email their submissions to constitutionalreform@barbados.gov.bb, or send their views in care of the Director General – Governance, 2nd Floor, E. Humphrey Walcott Building, corner of Culloden Road and Collymore Rock, St. Michael.

Additionally, members of the public may call the Constitutional Reform Commission’s hotline number – 536-1250 – any time, and leave their comments, concerns, views, and recommendations on constitutional reform. This information will be transcribed and sent directly to the members of the CRC for their review and action.

In addition, the facility allows callers to leave their names and other contact information in the event that the Commission needs to communicate with them.
